ANNOUNCEMENT
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed imported cases of the novel Coronavirus (2019 – nCov) (Wuhan virus) infection in Singapore and the Government has stepped up safeguards across all healthcare institutions accordingly. Changi General Hospital has mandated the cancellation of all cross-institutional meetings and events until the crisis has passed. We regret to inform you that this will affect the 9th FSSCO, which will unfortunately have to be postponed to a later date this year. Once again, thank you for your support for the 9th FSSCO. We apologize for the inconvenience, and seek your understanding during this difficult time. Dr Leslie Koh Course Convenor 9th Foundation Surgical Course in Otolaryngology WELCOME MESSAGEDear Friends and Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 9th Foundation Surgical Skills Course in Otolaryngology (FSSCO). As with past installments, this annual workshop promises to be an exciting and educational event. This workshop will be held from 24th February to 03 Mar 2020, and I am delighted to announce that it will be held at the newly-refurbished and state-of-the-art Center for Advanced Clinical & Surgical Skills at Changi General Hospital. The workshop will again feature multiple instructional courses that are aimed at providing strong foundational skills and up-to-date knowledge in practical anatomy and surgery for both junior as well as practicing Otolaryngologists. Building on the positive feedback and demand from both local and regional participants, the workshop will run over 9 days. There will be 2 days of Rhinology, 2 days of Facial Plastic Surgery, 2 days of Head & Neck Surgery, 1 day of Laryngology, and 2 days of Otology. We have the privilege of having a group of teaching faculty who are experienced sub-specialists within the respective fields from all over Singapore, as well as overseas centers, that will make the quality of learning of the highest standard. The program is deliberately designed with short lectures to highlight pertinent and practical surgical tips and to leave participants with ample cadaveric dissection time. A high instructor to participant ratio will allow close supervision and interaction during the cadaveric dissection to benefit participants from different levels of surgical background and interests. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our industry partners and sponsors for their continuing and invaluable support such that we are able to keep the course fees affordable. I look forward very much to your early registration and to welcoming you to Singapore in Feburary 2020! Dr Leslie Koh Course Convenor 9th Foundation Surgical Course in Otolaryngology |
