5TH FSSCO CONVENOR'S MESSAGE
Dear Colleagues & Friends,
It gives me the greatest pleasure to invite you to participate in the 5th edition of the Foundation Surgical Skills Course in Otolaryngology (FSSCO).
This course was conceptualised as a novel concept to provide a strong basic foundation in surgical skills for the budding Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon. Since its inception in 2011, many local and regional participants have benefited from it. Due to its high popularity, I am pleased to announce that the 5th FSSCO will be held at the Changi Surgical Skills Training Laboratory of Changi General Hospital from 28th February 2015 till 6th March 2015.
This 1-week course aims to provide participants with basic surgical principles and hands-on cadaveric dissections in five main subspecialties in ENT: Otology & Neurotology, Rhinology, Facial Plastics, Head & Neck Surgery and Laryngology. The teaching faculty will involve experienced subspecialists within the field who have undergone fellowship training at various world-renowned centres.
To maximize the learning experience, the program is designed to provide short lectures to highlight salient points in surgical dissection, ample cadaveric dissection time as well as abundant opportunities for interactions between participants and instructors. We recognize that participants will have different levels of surgical experiences. Hence, with a high number of instructors allocated for each module, participants can expect the availability of an instructor to guide them through the dissection process so none will feel lost during the course.
As the course is often over subscribed well in advance, I encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment! For our overseas participants, I welcome you to our beautiful city of Singapore and hope you can find the time to enjoy our local food and attractions!
